ver_linux doesn't shows correct binutils version

Hey all,

I try to prepare the build of an linux 2.6.1 kernel. My current binutils version was 2.10.x and I had to upgrade.

The build of my new binutil 2.14 went quiet good. When I run the command ld -v I get the respond, that version 2.14 ist installed.

My problem: In the linux tree the script "ver_linux" still shows my old version 2.10.x!

What went wrong??????

The new binutils are not in the same place as the old ones, and the shell is seeing the old ones first. Try uninstalling the old binutils.
