sending T'bird email with x-face in header

I believe I have the materials. I just cannot work out or find out how to put them together.

Thunderbird displays x-face images in emails received.

I have the code for an image, obtained from an online service.

I have the Mnenhy extension and have added an x-face header but do not know how to configure it.

Google turned up a comment in a bug report which did not help and nothing else that explained what to do.

Some people have evidently worked out how to do this. Can anyone here explain it?

For anyone else who likes to indulge in foolishness occasionally, I never got this working but there is a Thunderbird extension which even I can work: SenderFace
