Problem with busybox init `respawn'ing processes

I have a linux distribution that uses busybox init. After tweaking, some additions do not seem to have any effect. Here's my inittab file:
Code:
::sysinit:/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit
tty1::respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty1
S0::respawn:/sbin/getty ttyS0
::shutdown:/etc/rc.d/rc.shutdown
::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/reboot
I added `SO' so that I can login via a RS-232 serial port, but after booting, the getty process does not seem to be running. Any idea what the problem is?

Should be "S0" by "ttyS0"?

If I am correct, init only allows up to four characters for the label.

Actually, that works! Apparently busybox init uses the first field not as a label, but as the device name for the controlling terminal of the process. Thanks!
