Mplayer can't open files from nautilus that have spaces

When I right click Mplayer and select "Open file" it works fine. But when I double click a file in nautilus it says something along the lines of:

Failed to open file:///home/username/Desktop/music/Don't%Fear%The%Reaper.mp3

There is a fix that's posted on ubuntu forums saying to edit a line in the /usr/share/applications/mplayer.desktop

Every user has reported that it fixes the problem.

BUT...

No such file exists nor does creating one myself work. So is there no fix for me?

I use * to fill in all spaces when typing paths while using WINE

/home/user/.wine/drive*c/Program*Files/

...might be worth a try just renaming to

Don't*Fear*The*Reaper.mp3 , or maybe try putting the titles
in quotes...hope this helps.
