Cannot connect to secure sites after update to Firefox 1.5.0.7

Just upgraded from firefox 1.5.0.5 to 1.5.0.7 and since then cannot connect to secure sites.
Have tried the following
Checked ssl 2 and 3 etc
Tried action as suggested here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=472645

This meant that firefox would not start at all.

I am running FC5 and used initially the rpm from extras

Previously the updates have gone smoothly, now I cant see what I have done differently.

Any one any input or success stories please ?

This has something to do with the default profile, you can run the command -> firefox -ProfileManager from the terminal, a dialog box for creating profile will come up, delete the existing profile and create a new profile. Then restart firefox and it should access the https:// sites

Try this:

yum update nss

You might have to uninstall and reinstall firefox after the nss update.

OK, now back working

Thanks sn68 and jcliburn for your input

Tried the profile deletion first off but no change even after deleting firefox and then re-installing

Updated nss and deleted and re-installed and https:// sites are available again.

Thanks once again, but I would like to understand why because during the time when firefox was messing about I installed Galeon from the repo - I run Gnome desktop - which is based on the mozilla engine and it worked fine before and after updating nss. So the update to firefox must have screwed up something but only to affect firefox ?

I will leave the question open to experts to ponder but right now I am happy again.

Thanks once again.
