can't login as root anymore

hi,

I changed the /etc/sysconfig/desktop file because otherwise I couldn't make auto-login enabled

the changes were:

DESKTOP="KDE"
DISPLAYMANAGER="KDE"

I also stopped SELinux because it causes problems to several software. I use FC4

But now I can't login anymore as root but ONLY at the startup screen. In the terminal I can do a "su" successfully.

How can I solve this?

KDE disables root logins using KDM because of security reasons and its bad practice to login to a gui session as root. if you really need to login as root, you can enable this by running kcontrol going to system administration section and then login manager.
