'Status not available' for msn contacts in Kopete

i'm running Kopete (first 0.8.2 now 0.9.0) under suse 9.1. for little over a week i am plagued now by (a bug) that makes for some msn contacts that they can see my onine status while i can't see theirs. since changing to kopete 0.9.0 i get a 'status not available' for these contacts.

the error especially seems to happen when they're moved into the so-called 'metacontacts'.

is there anyone out there with a suggestion that can help me get rid of this nasty behaviour?
