why can't I print after an brand new install of SuSe Enterprise 10

purchased a new Dell 926 printer - installed the Drivers and Utiltilites disk But SuSE won't read it. I can see the files (folder) but when I click on the setup.exe it saids, "Couldn't display "/meia/Dell_926/Setup.exe". If there is a driver that I need to install - where do I get the driver for SUSE installs and what is the name of the file(s).

The setup.exe is a Windows executable which cannot be read by Linux, nor will the Windows drivers work. Just plug in the printer and it should detect it and install all the software automatically. Just keep in mind you won't be able to use the CD that came with it cause' it's all Windows software, but there's tons of Linux alternatives. If it doesn't automatically install the software go to the printers area of your systems control center and add it there. I've never had a printer that Linux couldn't work with so you should be fine. Sorry this is kind of vague but I've never used Suse so I don't know exactly how they've got their system set up.

Try yast2 >hardware >Printer it will guide you to install ad or delete a printer
On the left side you will find the manufacture on wright the type
Some times you,re type is not there but in this case some times another driver will also do the job and it is also possible that yast gives the suggestion to search on the manufacture website for the driver.
Before saving it gives the possibility to test the printer config

all the best
