I have been experimenting with Kompozer for the past couple of weeks. Mostly, I like it, but the "source view" could display the source text in a more legible manner. Used in conjunction with a nice text editor like Kate or Bluefish, it works pretty well.

I do find Kompozer much easier to use than I ever found Quanta to be.

Frankly, one of the three Windows programs I miss is HTMLKit; it didn't have WYSIWYG editing, but Tidy was built-in with a GUI output. But not enough missed for me to use Windows (the other two programs are The Semware Editor, best text editor ev-uh, and Vueprint--it was sort of like XNView, but easier and more flexible--which now seems to be dead, in case anyone wanted to ask).

Definitely not the best solution, but quite possibly one of the easiest.

yes open office is good but if you don't really want to mess with html tags and need a gui toolkit, Then my vote goes to seamonkey composer cause it let you construct a web page with a nice gui.
