Web Page Creation on Linux

which programs the easiest to deal with when creating a basic website within Linux (Ubuntu)? HTML level...nothing flash and nothing java.

P.S. something relatively comparative with Win 98 Visual Basic script proportions (no modules) but HTML-wise.

sudo apt-get install kompozer
or
sudo apt-get install bluefish

Bluefish is a text editor designed for web based scripting.
Komposer is a wyswyg editor as well.

How ever there are more out there those are the only 2 off the top of my head. If you install wine you can use windows based apps as well.

Sounds like you are looking for any text editor that has an html mode for syntax highlighting/indentation etc. What text editor do you use for other tasks?

What's VB? A web scripting language?

If so, try PHP, Perl, Python, or Ruby.

I always thought VB was a beer.

As far as I know seamonkey is the spawn of Mozilla Composer which replaced Netscape Composer, so it may be exactly what you are looking for.

Cheers,

OpenOffice.org Writer. Save as HTML.

Definitely not the best solution, but quite possibly one of the easiest.
