try to open xclock and get Error: Can't open display

I am using Moba xterm and when I try to open xclock, I get the error message "Error: Can't open display". the linux machine is unable to resolve my host name, so I tried using IP address instead, but I still get the same error.

"MobaXterm allows you to launch remote sessions. You just have to click on the "Sessions" button to start a new session."

The issue for me was that this happened with a regular telnet session. When I connected with ssh, the xclock worked

Can you type this on your linux box to see the DISPLAY setting.

Code:
echo $DISPLAY
By default, $DISPLAY is configured to the display :0
