scp command doesn't do anything

2 machines on a network, ping works both ways. 'host' running Ubuntu, 'target' an embedded ARM box running Debian. I'm trying to use scp to move files from target to host, the following command entered on the target does nothing when I hit enter, it's like more information is expected. ^c returns to the command line.

scp file.ext accnt@10.1.1.5: /home/

I can't see any obvious problems....

file.ext does exist in the current working directory.
account accnt on the host is logged in.
the ip address is ok, as I mentioned ping works.

Any suggestions on how I can find out what's wrong? Thanks

try:

scp file.ext accnt@10.1.1.5:/home/

don't put space after the IP Address.
