Opening apps from terminal on iPad 5.1.1

I want to open apps in terminal on my iPad 1st generation upgraded to 5.1.1. These are apps installed by cydia after jail broken. One app has a desk top icon that works. One app has a desk top icon that does not work! Some apps do not have desk top icons and other installed apps are unusable because I can not access them without a desk top icon.
Pls. Help

Sorry but why are you asking about an iPad on a Linux forum?

I did a search on my request and ended up on this forum. The terminal as I am lead to believe has something to do with Linux programming or so I thought?

ipads/ios/mac os x are actually bsdi unix based. perhaps a moderator can move this to the *nix/non-linux subforum ?

i dont have an ipad so i am not really following your original post.

i know how to launch certain android apps from the command-line:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...2/#post5196924

but of course, android uses the linux kernel.
