basically i start up the pc and boot cd1 of Mandrake 10.0
i accept the terms n stuff select keyboard type and it starts creating the partitions. As soon as the partitions are complete my mobo lets of four long beeps and the pc shuts down and does not reboot.
i just start installing linux, choose keyboard settings, accept the terms n stuffs. It finishes partitioning, then it beeps about 4 times in a row, quite long beeps and just shuts off
theres no anti virus settings on there. i know this is stupid but do you think the processor is overheating?
the processor is an amd3000+ and the heatsink is for an amd3400+ though :S
heh, i took off the heatsink (took me like two hours and my fingers are killing) and i looked at the cpu, the important bit in the middle that you cant touch is like chipped away :S, so ive sent it back.
yeaaaaaaaaaaa, er. incase you didnt read ive already mentioned the beeps and the problem that in means, AND ive detected the fault. So Google. Easy. is more like Google. No Need.
