I am using Fedora Core 1 and wan't to add mplayer.I understand that it doesn't normally have dvd codecs from the Fedora folks.So I installed APT/Snaptic and made Livna.org my repository.(They supposedly have the dvd enabled mplayer).When I go to install in synaptic I get the following error
mplayer:
Depends: config(mplayer) (= 0:1.0-0.lvn.0.15.pre5.1)
Depends: libdha.so.1.0
Depends: libdv.so.2 but it is not installable
Depends: libfribidi.so.0 but it is not installable
Depends: liblzo.so.1 but it is not installable
Depends: mplayer-fonts but it is not going to be installed

The first one does not show up on synaptic list.It is a Livna rpm why doesn't it show on the Livna site.But libdha.so.1.0 is suppose to be in mplayer and libdv.so.2 is supposed to be in libdv which I already show the most current version.

What am I not seeing here?Why do dependencies show that the mplayer actually has?

I would just do it manually my self, btw all mplayers are "dvd enabled" they just dont cpme with the library nescary fo decodeing them, the library is illegal for some stupid reason, as such it's a bit hard to find, try "linux decss" and "libdecss" on google. if you find it and install it, you will be able to play encrypted dvds with mplayer or xine or whatever else you choose.
