I'm thinking about trying out Linux, and Knoppix seemed a safe and easy way to do that (instead of creating new partitions, installing a completely new OS etc.)
Downloaded an ISO, burned it to cd, booted up, and after some messages I got this:
Quote:
Unknown bridge resource 2: assuming transparent
|
...and after that:
Quote:
can't find Knoppix filesystem, sorry
|
which left me with a text console (?).
I could only find this on the problem:
Quote:
356: # Give control to the init process.
357: echo "${CRE}${BLUE}Starting init process.${NORMAL}"
358: rm -f /linuxrc
359: exit 0
360:
361: else
362: echo "${CRE}${RED}Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry.${NORMAL}"
363: echo "${RED}Dropping you to a (very limited) shell.${NORMAL}"
364: echo "${RED}Press reset button to quit.${NORMAL}"
365: echo ""
366: echo "Additional builtin commands avaliable:"
367: echo " cat mount umount"
368: echo " insmod rmmod lsmod"
369: echo ""

oes anyone have any idea on how I can get this thing running properly?
(Sorry for posting this here, but the Knoppix forum is inaccesible. They moved it to a new location, but haven't updated all the links inside the forum yet. (at least for me it was impossible to post or search))
