I'm going to burn an iso image of Mepis to a CD.
I,ll keep this aside until needed.
Then I'll try "to shrink SDA1 to make enough unpartitioned space to reinstall Windows. Then install Windows...."
I do need to know in if it is easy to run gparted shrink SDA1 and what suitable space I should make.
For information about the Debian I use, I copied the following from "about the system" that I'm using now: GNOME, version: 2.22.3 Distributor: Debian Buid

The I'll need to know how to repair the bootstrap when rebooting from Linux CD I have after installing windows.
If that did not work, I would install Mepisand follw the first method you mentioned.
What do you think about that?!
