without needed information ???
there is not much .

1)
the FULL commands you are using .
2)
what version of HTK ?????
i am guessing this is it
http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/

3)
did you install every required program and source needed ???
this is a pay site so i do not have access
are you fallowing some " install guide "

from looking at the site this software looks to be about 10 years old
you might have a very hard time building it on a new OS

it is likely you will NEED the old gcc 3.3 compiler installed

but voice rec software should be built in to the os as part of the people with disabilities act

how did you try to install gcc 3.4 ?
it or 3.3 should be in the Ubuntu repos
and how did you set the compiler ??
using the
Code:
export CC=gcc-3.4 gcc=gcc-3.4
--- then configure
or
is it a " Makefile" build
if so YOU have to edit ALL OF them and there might be MANY and MANY
( i have one program that i build that has over 200 that have to get edited -- by hand)

what ones ?
and can you post links

but seeing as you HAD to get a username and password to get the source

i would ask them

or
use something different
