how to access windows's share from rhel5


I want to access shared directory of windows xp from redhat linux. I share 'd:' drive from windows machine. please help me.

if you have the Samba package installed, you may use its console client called smbclient

but I'm sure that KDE has its own graphical tool for this purpose. I use XFCE and it has its tool called Gigolo. I think KDE must have something like this.

RHEL5. I am guessing the default desktop to be Gnome. Go to Place > Network. It will search for domain or workgroup. Select the proper one. You will find the computer names listed. Selected the one that has shared folders.

simply open any folder on your Linux machine (assuming you have browser mode enabled) and type in address bar smb://ip.address.of.windows. It'd normally work unless you have firewall enabled on the Windows machine.
