Fedora Core 3: Newbie issues with auto-mounting
Hey all. I have recently installed Fedora after trying Ubuntu. And, while I'm getting the hang of setting things up mostly on my own, I've run into a bit of a snag.
I have Windows XP on a separate HD, and Fedora on the secondary HD, sharing the drive with a FAT32 partition that I plan on using to house files readable by both OS. And, while I've figured out how to mount the drive so that Linux can see it, I can't seem to figure out how to edit my fstab to get it to automatically mount. "gedit fstab" brings up the file, but in a read-only format. Also, it has the note that it was edited with fstab-sync, and I cannot seem to find anything that tells me how to use this file or the HAL Daemon that its man file references.
For that matter, I can't figure out how to temporarily mount it so that I have write access, either.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
