Yesterday I installed lots of stuffs in my fedora 13 and I don't know whether the problem is due to any of those! Let me describe the problem below.
My laptop is dual boot, it has Windows-7 and Fedora 13. Till day-before-yesterday Fedora could detect/auto-mount Windows partition. Since yesterday I notice Fedora can't auto-mount Windows partition anymore (though sometimes after boot [but not always] it shows the windows file-system icon under 'Places' menu in gnome desktop, but when I click on the icon it says no "Unable to mount. Authentication is required"!). Previously it used to ask me the root password when I clicked on the windows icon. Apparently when I log in as root I can access Windows!
Now, I sort of fixed the problem by editing a line (basically mounting windows in my /mnt/sda2 folder; commnad: '/dev/sda2 /mnt/sda2 ntfs-3g defaults 0 0') in /etc/fstab file, and on rebooting it auto mounts windows. The thing I don't like is the fact that now it does not ask me for password it used to (which I think is important). Any suggestion to bring back the password prompt? I would also like to know if any of you had this problem before and if you have solved it without manually creating mount point for windows and editing /etc/fstab file.

full perl( including the kitchen sink )
and i can not remember the last time i needed this " gcc-gfortran "


i would uninstall things you will never use first .
