What functions you can assign to the Super Key depends a lot on what Window manager you are using.
I know that, in
Fluxbox, you make it a hot key for key-mapping. Here's an excerpt from my
Fluxbox keys file. "Mod4" is the Windows or Super key:
Code:
!Added by Frank
Mod4 f :ExecCommand firefox
Mod4 c :ExecCommand gcalctool
Mod4 e :ExecCommand gedit
Mod4 g :ExecCommand gnome-commander
Mod4 k :ExecCommand konqueror ~
Mod4 n :ExecCommand nautilus --no-desktop --browser
Mod4 o :ExecCommand opera
Mod4 p :ExecCommand pan
Mod4 t :ExecCommand gnome-terminal
Mod4 v :ExecCommand gnome-volume-control
Mod4 w :ExecCommand oowriter
I learned about this from
Klaatu's podcast.
(I have both Gnome and KDE installed on my laptop so both their libraries are availble to me.)
