Can't Run Eggdrop

I'm trying to run eggdrop but when i do i get this:

Eggdrop v1.6.12 (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2002 Eggheads
[13:41] * ERROR: Eggdrop will not run as root!
[root@host eggdrop1.6.12]#

When i try to run as different user i get this:

bash-2.05b$ ./eggdrop -m eggdrop.simple.conf
bash: ./eggdrop: Permission denied

Whats wrong?? Can someone tell me what i need to do to get eggdrop running.

Thanks In advance!

Create a new user for eggdrop to run as. Then chown all of eggdrop's files and directories to that user. Then re-run it. Your problem is that you didn't give the user you're trying to run eggdrop as permission to run the executable.
