Can't play MP3 music tracks on XMMS and Kaffeine

I open XMMS and select a directory to play. The contents of the directory is showed one-by-one in the music name window and then it appears the name of the first music. When I click "play" the list is showed one-by-one again in the music name window and nothing happen.

The same behavior occurs with Kaffeine.

I'm using Mandriva 2008 spring free. I can't play musics in my PC.

Greetings from Sao Paulo - Brazil

Ricardo

mp3 is not supported by Linux operating systems by default..

I think you have to install mp3 plugin

I installed this through

for ubuntu

Code:
sudo apt-get install xmms-mp3
for fedora

Code:
sudo yum install xmms xmms-mp3

can't say about your distribution....

I try and isntall xmms-mp3 as suggested. Look below:
==========================================================================
[root@localhost ricardo]# urpmi xmms-mp3
Para satisfazer as dependências, o seguinte pacote será instalado:
Pacote Versão Release Arch
(mídia "Contrib (Official2008.1-7)")
xmms-mp3cue 0.94 6mdv2008.1 x86_64
76KB de espaço adicional em disco serão usados.
35KB de pacotes serão baixados.
Proceder a instalação de um pacote? (S/n)

ftp://mandriva.c3sl.ufpr.br/Mandriva...8.1.x86_64.rpm
instalando xmms-mp3cue-0.94-6mdv2008.1.x86_64.rpm a partir de /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
Preparando... #############################################
1/1: xmms-mp3cue #############################################
[root@localhost ricardo]#
==========================================================================
But the trouble reported persists.

Someone talk about Real player... I tried it twice in the past and it only allow me play 1 music each time...

New suggestions?

Cheers
