Thanks for your reactions, but sorry, I didn't respond earlier since I was too busy with oter things and today I drowned in problems with Thunderbird mailing resulting in my mail out of order in addition to my Brother. That feels rather hopeless at this moment after endeavouring to switch from Windows to Linux.
I didn't use the
http://localhost:631/ facility since they made a distinction between a USB installation and a wireless installation, which latter they advised and which worked perfectly in my installation under Windows a couple of months ago. Would that USB facility be necessary or maybe better for Linux?
And Redd9, all those scripts frighten me a little bit because I don't understand those commands.
I add my printer settings and an error log resulting from the trouble shooting procedure. That is, however, far too technical for me to understand.
