who's in my neighborhood?...


...how can get an idea of my local network structure...in other words...what would a map of this zip code's entire isp network structure look like? star config? star-bus? thanks.

Ask your ISP, which I'm sure they are going to be concerned in regards to someone asking for such information and wonder why! Also depends on what type of connection you are on. Cable modem, most are connected to a HUB, what most call it, and usually no more than 500 customers use a HUB. Once it reaches that size, they create another HUB.

DSL your supposedly connected directly to the server that then connects you to the internet, etc.

Dialup, your simply dialing into the server to connect to the internet and so on..
