Unhappy Impossible install Epson Stylus Photo PX700W Wireless on Ubuntu 8.10 64bit

Good afternoon,
I buyed an Epson Stylus Photo PX700W and I connected via Wireless on my speedtouch 585V6 for my local network.

I'm looking for a wireless printer/scanner driver on ubuntu 64 bit but at now I can't find.

I see that Avasys (http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/spc/DL2.do) have some drivers for this printer and scanner all-in-one but it doesn't work on ubuntu 64 bit.

I downloaded pipslite_1.3.0-2_i386.deb (but it's for 32-bit) and iscan_2.19.0-4_amd64.deb.

In installation go out errors:

vmazzotta@blackhawk:~/Desktop$ sudo dpkg -i pipslite_1.3.0-2_i386.deb
[sudo] password for vmazzotta:
dpkg: error processing pipslite_1.3.0-2_i386.deb (--install):
package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64)
Errors were encountered while processing:
pipslite_1.3.0-2_i386.deb

vmazzotta@blackhawk:~/Desktop$ sudo dpkg -i iscan_2.19.0-4_amd64.deb
Selecting previously deselected package iscan.
(Reading database ... 174516 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking iscan (from iscan_2.19.0-4_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of iscan:
iscan depends on libltdl3 (>= 1.5.2-2); however:
Package libltdl3 is not installed.
dpkg: error processing iscan (--install):
dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
iscan

Can somebody help me to configure this scanner/printer via wireless?

I don't want return to use Winzoz please!

Kind Regards
Vincenzo

On a 32-bit Ubuntu installation I had the same issues.

I finally installed everything from the sources.
I wrote down the steps on the following page:

installing Epson px700w print via wireless network succesfull

I did get working the Epson PX700W via wireless.

Steps
1. get the IP address for the wifi interface.
2. Download the drivers (read Epson driver page Linux how-to)
3. Install the pipslite driver for the printer (doubleclick .deb pckg)
At first the printer is just printing empty pages.
To solve this I experimentend with different drivers.
4. Configure the printer
Location: I used ip address
Device URI: socket://192.168.1.100:9100
At last I solved the problem by using (for brand and model) the
driver for Epson Stylus Photo RX700 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.2

Hope this helps
