Can I use linux it's like it acts Microsoft Exchange server's shared contacts?

I'll install a server containing linux OS,
all clients will be Windows XP has Microsoft Outlook.
Can Outlook users connect on linux shared contact as Microsoft Exchange does.? Can All the clients see contacts on linux server via their outlook?

Thanks for your kind interest.

well "Linux" is an operating system, whilst "Exchange" is an email server, so Linux can't replace Exchange like a Monkey couldn't replace a car. there are servers that provide a similar functionality to Exchange though, such as Zimbra, so i'd guess you'd want to look at that.
