The acer looks like it would work just fine. It's mostly Intel components, which are linux friendly. The only issue might be getting 1280x800, but that would most likely be solved by 915resolution.
I'd put my money on the lenovo. I've heard bad things about Acer warranties. Guys have had their laptops circling around Europe for 2 months before they were fixed. Acer seems to be a little crappier altogether, I compared my Acer Travelmate 4202WLMi to my friends Asus AJC6 or whatever the model was. Asus seemed to be better on every aspect except to monitor.
