mythbuntu and EDUP/Broadcom 4306 wi-fi card--HELP!
Hiya, folks! It's been a while since I posted here, so please be patient with me. I've just put together a dual-boot, home-brew system, using Windows XP SP3 and mythbuntu 11.04. One problem came up almost immediately: My wi-fi card is an EDUP/Broadcom 802.11G, using a Broadcom 4306 chip. I can use the card just fine under Windows, except that my access from my apartment is extremely intermittent and spotty (I'm having to use a neighbor's wi-fi until I can get mobile broadband at least!). As you may have already deduced, however, mythbuntu doesn't even recognize that my card exists! Right now, I'm having to research the problem on one of my local library's computers. My hardware setup is as follows:
Gateway "Midway 2 PE" (Intel D865-GRH) mobo
Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.8 Ghz.
2 GB of DDR-400 Ram
ATI Radeon 9600 SE AGP
2 hard drives, totalling ca. 420 GB
How would you suggest that I proceed? Thanks very much in advance for any help or advice!
