linux and the sound card; strange thing
I have a home theatre connected to my PC.
Now here's the strange thing: Before, everything worked great. I could listen to normal (PCM) audio and DVDs in Dolby with xine.
Now, I can listen to the DVDs sound track in Dolby Digital, but I can't get any PCM audio.
when I do a /etc/init.d/alsasound restart (I'm using gentoo) I get the following in the logs:
Nov 20 22:11:13 [rc-scripts] WARNING: you are stopping a boot service.
Nov 20 22:11:13 [kernel] ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:11.5 disabled
I don't know what the PCI interrupt thing means, but I think it might be important.
The problem appeared simply from one second to the other. I was listening to a track, suddenly the sound stopped and I couldn't get it up again.
By that time I was having CPU problems (overheating) which cause dataloss in my PC, so I think that's important too.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
