Can't get HP Deskjet 5650 printing on SUSE 9.1 Pro
Hi everybody, I need some help
I installed SUSE 9.1 yesterday and today I wanted to print my homework but I couldn't. When I try to configure my printer with Yast, it says that CUPS is not running and I'm not even able to print a test page.
If I try to start CUPS manually this is what happens:
oreno:~ # /etc/init.d/cups start
Starting cupsd done
oreno:~ # cupsd: Child exited with status 98!
Here are some lines of the CUPS' error log file:
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:54 -0600] Loaded configuration file "/etc/cups/cupsd.conf"
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:54 -0600] Configured for up to 100 clients.
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:54 -0600] Allowing up to 100 client connections per host.
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:54 -0600] Full reload is required.
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:55 -0600] LoadPPDs: Read "/etc/cups/ppds.dat", 3592 PPDs...
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:55 -0600] LoadPPDs: No new or changed PPDs...
I [18/Nov/2004:22:20:55 -0600] Full reload complete.
E [18/Nov/2004:22:20:55 -0600] StartListening: Unable to bind socket - Address already in use.
Could you help me before Monday, please?
My printer is a HP Deskjet 5650 connected to the paralell port.
Thanks for your support!!
