Question Where i can get source code of the 'cp' command?


Hi members!

I need the source code of the 'cp' & 'mv' commands for my project work.(i am a student of Engineering.) where can i get it?
any advice,

Hi!
i tried that site.(after all, that was the most logical thing to do!) but i couldn't get anything there.
is there any other way? somebody told me abt binutils. but i didn't find it useful.

I believe what you want is in here:

ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/coreutils/coreutils-5.0.tar.gz

In the /src directory after extracting it.

Another way to get the code

On Debian based systems apt-get can retrieve the code via this command:

apt-get source package-name
apt will save the source to the current directory see:

Code:
man apt-get
