This is a fairly trivial question - I re-installed Redhat 8 and the soundcard works but I don't get the login / logout sounds in KDE. Anyone know how to turn it on?
Prefrences-->Sound-->System Noticifications. By the way what is the Linux equivelant to the start button. I would hate to say go to the start menu and press Prefrences-->Sound-->System Noticifications. It just reminds me of Windows too much. What is the common name for this. Is it referred to as the little K in kde or the little foot in Gnome.
I usually just say Control Center so they can fire it up as they'd like so I don't have to worry whether they have pref's on the menu or not, which wm they are in, or whatever. They can launch however they see fit
