What's the best multimedia player for Linux.I want to play all types of video and audio format.
I'm interested in videolan but I'm missing so much dependencies (which is the manin reason I gave up of installing players).Any suggestions?
Tried Xine, mplayer, videolan, aviplay, xmmp but I miss so many dependencies that I don't know what to do anymore.I installed many libraries but still...
you can't ask what the best one is if you can't install many of them... they ARE the best ort at least most popular ones. I think what you really need to do is get to grips with yum or apt-get to understand automatic dependency management better, and not relate your situation to media players at all.
EDIT: yum sucks because of it's problems with dependencies, apt-get is much better, at least for me.I found a small text on how to install xine on linux. It works very well.
