Gentoo Linux - Default Bash, where to alias ls --color?
Hi all you veterans!
I have installed the default gentoo linux! its a fantastic distro
1. I want my dir colors! - Where do I configure to add in alias ls="ls --color=always"?
- I have tried /etc/skel/.bashrc -- added in the command, no difference
- I have tried /etc/conf.d/local.start -- added in, no difference.
- i'll only have it when i add into "local.start this line -- bash /etc/skel/.bashrc <== but my prompt will
change.
2. Currently running fluxbox. When I run Aterm in StartX. how do i configure my prompt?
- how do i make it : <whatever>#
- where do i add alias ls="ls --color=always" into so it'll always start with dir colors?
3. What message is a "Specific key requires an operator"? I got it when I emerge net-analyzer/nikto-1.31
Please enlighten me!
sincerely,
james
