We would expect someone who took the exam on April 30 under the earlier format to have the same outcome that they would have on May 1 under the new format. The scope of what is tested is the same. Consider our online prep guide for the RHCT and RHCE exams: the only section of it that has changed is the section concerning timing and format. Our guidance on the skills one must have has not changed.
I am sure the requirements won't change much as custangro said.
You'll probably do custom partitioning without using Disk Druid during the install, so we can expect using fdisk or parted to create the new partitions.
I sure hope they don't add new stuff like xen. It's already a tough exam as it is.

I took just the RHCT today (May 1st, first day of the new test) and passed. It contained the types of material I expected, no curveballs. The whole thing was smooth. They had said 3 business days before receiving results but they were waiting for me in my inbox when I got back to work an hour and a half later. I doubt I'll be able to get my employer to pay for the RHCE classes but maybe if I self study I can get them to pay for just the test. Anyways I was worried about the format change but I actually really liked it, though I never took the earlier one so I have nothing to compare it to. Better than MS tests regardless.
I was part of the first RHCE exam in Orlando, FL this past Friday. It was 3.5 hours long like it has been previously said in this thread. I have not received my results yet but I think I got it. We shall see. Some people (who perhaps should have not signed up for the class) left early, basically quit during the first hour of the exam. Good luck to anyone studying to obtain the test, I suggest you download the RHEL installation and implementation guide and concentrate on the requirements for the RHCE from the redhat website and study and study and practice and practice. Oh and yes you can still obtain the RHCT and not the RHCE depending on your scores. Good luck.
