I have a trouble with my video card.
I installed Slackware 10.1, kernel 2.4.29, and I have a trouble with my video card, I think. Because I can't see very well my movies with any video program. When I use Xine the movie looks to slow but there is sound and this message appears:

Then I used xine-check and everything looks to be fine, except these messages:

XVideo is an X server extension introduced by XFree86 4.x. This

conversion and scaling, which gives a great performance boost.

Mi cdrom drive is in DMA mode on. Then I would like to know what can I do?
Should I upgrade my kernel to 2.6...or my X server?
I tried to go to linuxvideo.org and my browser tells me that web page doesn't exist.

From your specifications, you have an integrated, onboard Savage 8 video card. When you set the system up, did you run xorgconfig to configure the video, or did you accept the defaults at install? If you accepted the defaults, you're still running with a generic video setup. Try backing up your xorg.conf file and running xorgconfig again. Be prepared to provide a great deal of information when you do, including information about the refresh rates that your monitor can handle. Don't worry if you come to a question you don't know the answer to. You can always Ctrl-C to end the process and it won't write any changes to the file until you get to the very end.

To back up your current configuration (You'll need root access for all of this):
Then run xorgconfig and follow the prompts. When you're asked if you want to see the video chipset database, say yes. Then you'll be able to find an appropriate entry in that system for your video.
Once you've saved all of your changes, at the very end, it will ask you for permission to write a new xorg.conf file. Once you've done that, restart X and see if it doesn't help.

If you do this, and all heck breaks loose, you can restore your original configuration with:

Great !!!. I did you say me. My video card wasn't still configured, I was reading my xorg.conf.old and when I compared with my xorg,conf.new(resulting from executing xorconfig) and I see the difference.
