Do you get the error right away? Make sure you reset the modem first. If the modem insists on Internet Explorer, you can change the brower identification in the Konqueror setup. Other than that, I have no idea what the problem might be.

How are you connecting to the Modem? You may have better luck using the ethernet interface. According to the Westel Instructions for the Verison customers, there is a web based interface at 192.168.1.1 .

I have the same problem even with different browsers. I have tried the address 192.168.1.1 (which is what verizon told me to try) & still no luck. To reset my password I finally had to cal their tech support & ask them to change it for me. Too bad I had to waste all that time for a minor thing I should have been able to do myself, but....

Oh, & I'm using the ethernet connection.

I am connected with an ethernet (3com) card
and wired to the dsl modem. I have tryed that
address with 5 different browsers...no luck, not a login screen nothing, error says network problem, An error occurred while loading http://192.168.1.1:
Could not connect to host 192.168.1.1
thats why I'm inclined to believe that other post
