You know when I watched American Pie 1 & 2 and Loser ( they are mine beloved
I was very interested in 3 groups - Blink , Sum and Wheatus. Now I like them very much. When I first heard Blink 182 - Every Time I look for you, First Date, Rock Show
etc.. and Sum's - Fat Lip, In to deep, I was so happy you can not imagine. Now I love alternative punk rock alot.

Sorry to say this, but Eminem IMHO is a sorry excuse as a musician. He's nothing but a joke and his music sucks to me. The same loopback sound sample playing over and over with crappy lyrics..

I'm not a big fan of most so-called hip-hop, R&B today.. its not true hip-hop or R&B to me anymore, they're all manufactured bands made by record labels to make money.

Oh well, just a musician myself with an opinion.

I second that, trickykid. I find alot of these newer "rock" bands bland and boring. I can actually imagine some of these guys sitting around thier parent's house and deciding "Hey guys, let's form a band that sounds exactly like <insert crappy modern 'rock' band here> and make alot of dough.". I'm just glad there are some bands that are still cool though. Namely the White Stripes and Offspring. Tool is always good too. Weezer rocks.

Well, my favorites would be:

2Pac (The best!(Well I like him alot(From the age of 10)))
Sum 41
Blink 182
Offspring
Wu-Tang
NAS
N.E.R.D.

Used to like Eminem, but then realised what kind of crap he was making. Although maybe a couple of songs are not so bad. A little bit of Avril Lavigne, a little of Nickelback and a lot of songs of different bands and singers, but the main music that I like to listen would still be Hip-Hop.

Oh man! Regae (ok I suck at spelling some things ) rules! That's usually what I will listen to while surfing, but it really depends on my mission. If I am cruising the boards, just to answer questions, yeah, Bob marly rocks! If I am drilling new things into my system, and am searching for help, I usually lean more towards Tool, RamStein!, POD and all. It keeps me stoked enough to complete my projects

And as for Eminem...

I agree. He couldn't make a decent tune to save his life. That said, I like some of his horrible tunes from his latest album. I guess it's one of those torture things. When they first come out, I think, this crap sucks. Then as it gets played again and again, it grows on me like the plague! So, I do listen to him from time to time, but try to steer away from RAP but do like R & B and hip hop, go figure. Alternative still floats my boat, and I really like 80's "hetian" rock. ACDC, G n R, White Snake, Tesla, so on. Even touch in a few country songs, Garth Brooks rocks, Tim McGraw, and whoever the chick is who sings StrawBerry Wine. Classical is GREAT while studying, and keeps my concentration.

Cool

everyone keeps saying that the rap of today, and the rock bands of today all sound like rip offs of other bands, then they say i love avril, or sum 41 kicks. this is bs, they sound like every other coporate punk band. and the offspring were descent back in their early days but they have gone steeply down hill.

i'm obviously not a punk or rap fan so i'm pretty biased, i dont think the rock now a days is original either but you people should see the flaws in your argument.

as for eminem, his lyrics seem to actually have a prupose of telling a story, the last rap song i heard said something like "pass the cavasie" over and over again. the last eminem song i heard talked about his crappy family life. i dont own an eminem cd nor do i plan to, but i dont think he's the worst rapper out there.

as for this quote from tricky kid The same loopback sound sample playing over and over with crappy lyrics.. that is not just eminem that's the definition of all rap, loops and samples over lyrics you cant and dont want to hear.
