Wink How many of y'all were banned from JL? (besides Bishop...)

It looks to me like a real blood letting over there. Lots of threads are gone. Lots of people, too.
If there's a "Wich linux is best" thread here I'm going to cry...

I wouldn't have been banned, except I could not stand for what was happening. I felt a responsibility to point out that they had started deleting threads at like 5 in the morning. By the time the regular crew came in everything would have been gone. I think I probably slowed the dozer down, but did nothing to stop it. And by the time I read the threat from profit, it was too late, I was banned. But I would have left anyway, what he did was wrong. I wonder if that's why Strike decided to stop being a mod? They just went about it the wrong way.

So I guess you'll be here now?

I really want to talk to somebody about networking and security in the coming days...

I posted an announcement about my departure, but I'm not banned yet. I'm seriously considering ripping into mdwatts after reading this:

Quote:
How about those that always download their distros for free instead of contributing to the companies that spend all the $$$ on distro development? All the expenses that any other company has and yet some still are not satisfied.

What is the word for that??? Ahhh 'freeloaders'.

If you don't like it here anymore, then by all means move on. I personally don't really care as all those that leave as easily replaced. Likely with members that give a little bit more than they take.

I've been here since December/99 and have STILL to post a question. Why am I here still? Only to continue learning and to help others if I possibly can.

Why are you here?

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with mdwatt's reply...

I like the look of this forum so far, though. Hopefully I can continue to learn now.

Nah. I was thinking more along the lines of a rather long, rather vicious post that probably would make a Soprano cringe.
