Best Brazilian movies I've seen (and they are REALLY good) are:

"Cidade de Deus"
and
"Tropa de Elite"

Thats a must-see .
What's that about?

Project Swordfish - a hacker movie with the guy from something - or could it be from Greece? What a crap movie Greece was!

These aren't movies but it's a good anime series of 13 episodes and it also have another similar series which I'll explain.
Onegai Teacher ; an alien lands in some village, moves next door to this guy at school. She becomes his teacher and they're forced to marry even though she is going against her alien-law things.

Onegai Twins ; never finished watching this series but it's about these twins who don't know it, but they have the same picture of each other when they were young playing together and knew they always had a twin. Based at the same time as the previous series (onegai teacher), with the same characters in but the main characters are different than the previous.

Ghost in the Shell - the three movies and tv series are really good. And it's an anime. Also that dildo Spielbirg (or however you say his name) is making a new real-life movie of it which is going to suck!

Whenever I run out of things to watch, I go back to the movies I grew up with:

- Terminator 1,2
- Star Wars IV,V,VI
- Indiana Jones 1,2,3
- Die Hard 1
- Back to the Future 1,2,3

And so many others I've seen thousands of times. Either they were really that good, or there is this little guy inside me who loves those movies so much making them feel ageless.

Oh, and way to screw up the sequels for all the above, except for Back to the Future, which I hope won't have a sequel

Here are some good movies I have watched recently that I can remember:

Hostage
Inside Man
The Illusionist

I also recommend you see:

Wanted

not because it's a good movie per se, it wasn't all that good, but you do have to see it at least once, you know those class of movies ... too unbelievable to call good, but too good not to watch at least once.

If you're posting Wanted, then I'm posting Shoot 'Em Up - now there's a fun film!

I also really enjoyed "The Prestige" - a film about rivalry between magicians. Stars Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Caine and David Bowie.

Just a few more (they keep popping into my mind):
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
π
Matrix (only the first one)
Lawrence Of Arabia (no relation)
L.A. Confidential

And, for a change, some I can't stand:
Anything directed/written by Quentin Tarantino.

Yeah, pretty much only the first on is good, the rest are kinda tacked onto it, but are not directly related to it.

Suggestions I forgot:
Train de vie
A scanner darkly (note that it is a "dark" movie, but still rather good and funny)

I guess I should also suggest some of my favorites that I haven't watched in a while:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (of course)
UHF
The Game
Groundhog Day

Also, one movie that was mentioned that I really dislike is "The Prestige". I would call it a movie with no sense, in the end there is no point to it all. Kinda like "The perfect storm".

Lord of the Flies?
It's a little good I suppose, but as equally as bad if it's bad at all. And something everyone likes, the TV series Friends. I love Friends. Or Everybody Loves Raymond.

Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within (Good Anime-like fight scenes too )
Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (This one is adapted from FF VII game)
