mounting a usb drive

Hi, I have an Iomega usb mini drive 64Mb. When I plug it in, I have the following msg in /var/log/syslog

Jun 8 14:55:01 HONGHA kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.1-1, assigned address 3
Jun 8 14:55:01 HONGHA kernel: WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured
Jun 8 14:55:01 HONGHA kernel: USB Mass Storage device found at 3
Jun 8 14:55:04 HONGHA usb.agent[1282]: usb-storage: loaded sucessfully

the relevant modules usb-storage, scsi_mod, usbcore are all loaded . <note that I don't configure scsi generic support in the kernel, do I need to ? >

My question is I don't know which device the kernel assigned the drive to ? e.g /dev/something ? How to determine that - thanks in advance.

Code:
apt-get install sg3-utils

# sg_scan

# sg_map
If you have no other scsi devices it may very well be at /dev/sda1. Try mounting that:

Code:
mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbdrive
with whatever specific filesystem you have and the mount location. I do this with a pen drive and my digital camera all the time. Works great.

Hi, thanks for replying. Found out the problem because I didn't enable scsi generic support in kernel. Works fine now.

Could you refreash my memory How would I go about enabling scsi genric support in the kernel.

I'm haveing semalar problem, with my pen drive.

I believe I do need to add hdc= into my grub but would that also help with these pen drives.
