Windows user to try Bodhi but need help in picking some alternative windows app!
You see my old laptop is on windows 10 Redstone 5. I have found that some times my laptop spkies to 100% and then comes back down and it did not use to do this.
my pc specs are
Intel Core i5 3210M @ 2.50GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Hewlett-Packard 183F (U3E1)
Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (HP)
238GB MTFDDAK256MAM-1K1 (SATA (SSD))
So i have decided to try another lighter os to see if that would help.
Before I do a full install I need to know was do I get alternative apps from?
The apps that I am
winehq app
Photoshop
microsoft word
Grammarly in Microsoft word
TomTom sat nav??
find alternative app
nitro pro (signature pen support) pdf
internetdownloadmanager
winx youtube downloader
franz
videostudiopro
screen recording
mailbird email client
Will GCleaner work on your os?
Before I go full force I need some help as I am new to Linux.
I would try to figure out why your machine is spiking to 100% first. Yes, win10 is quite bloated but not sure that's causing the spike.
As for your apps, I am guessing you are looking for replacements for these:
Photoshop - gimp
microsoft word - Libreoffice
Grammarly in Microsoft word - no clue what this is
TomTom sat nav?? - no equivalent that I know of, possibly might run through wine
nitro pro (signature pen support) pdf - possibly might run through wine
internetdownloadmanager - unnecessary on ANY OS. Probably spyware or just bloatware at best.
winx youtube downloader - probably equivalents, I don't download from youtube so someone else may help with this one.
franz - no clue what this is
videostudiopro - what is this for, video editing? there are several video editors available in Linux
screen recording - yes, but I don't do this so not sure the app names
mailbird email client - tons of email clients available in Linux, never heard of this one.
Will GCleaner work on your os? There is no need to ever run any sort of "cleaning" software on Linux.
winehq app - this is a linux native app - called wine
Photoshop - gimp
microsoft word - libreoffice
Grammarly in Microsoft word - what does it do?
TomTom sat nav?? - what does it do?
find alternative app
nitro pro (signature pen support) pdf - what does it do?
internetdownloadmanager - not required, or use a browser addon
winx youtube downloader - not required, or use a browser addon
franz - what does it do?
videostudiopro - what does it do?
screen recording - native solutions available, search your software manager
mailbird email client - thunderbird, search your software manager
Will GCleaner work on your os? - no. not required; linux is fundamentally different
