Multiple flavours of Linux- what to opt for?

I must admit, I am so confused!
Say you are a kid (you always were a kid once!
) and go to a mall with parents for shopping. You see an icecream parlour in there, and couldn't resist running towards it. Your dad gives you moderate warning about being ill but you barely care. So you go, and see there's a season offer: pick up any flavour of icecream, without any cost.
Now, you love chocolates also. So chances are there you go for a chocolate flavour. Then again, you usually take the vanilla flavour whenever you take one icecream. And your favourite fruit is strawberry.
So which flavour do you pick? Confused? Me too, see the heading of the post!
Here, compare your big daddy with Microsoft Windows who claims to (or seems to) know it all, that's why he warned you moderately but didn't stop you. Consider the season offer as FREE distros, and obviously, consider icecream as Linux.
I am so much newbie in gnu/Linux environment, I have always been fond of (despite all cons as Linux guys say) Windows since Windows 95, more from Windows 98 SE. I needed to care less about powers, free softwares etc. as I am an ASP/ASP.NET developer and work majorly on managed C++/C#,MS MVC.
Lately, I found I can get an immense chance of getting rid of proprietory softwares like Visual Studio and all its add-ons; secondly, I found software developers deploy buggy apps without even caring to manage bugs/exceptions in catch block; they write straight in finally block. Which, in easy words, means you use a bad application with the bugs/exceptions hidden or overlooked. In Linux, there's absolutely no question about it; they "call a bug a bug" and that's amazing. And finally, when I take a look around, Linux runs everywhere-smartphones, phablets, embedded systems....
It's easy until this part. Now comes the question- which one? Ubuntu is as easy as can be used by kids, Fedora has some very smart apps and debuggers, openSUSE has a big name of Novell (same as Fedora, a big name Red Hat) and very easy to use, Slackware is for hardcore Linux users. For enterprise level of my company it's ok, but as a user?
Recent deed- I opted for a two-in-one!
Lately, I use Ubuntu and openSUSE x86_64 system. I tried Fedora 17 for around a month, but found openSUSE better for me.
So LQ members, which one is your cup of tea? And why so?
