Howto install gimp 2.6.10 in ubuntu 10.04(Lucid)

    I have done that before:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install gimp
That's all you have to do.

Recover Data From a dead hard drive using ddrescue

There is now also GNU ddrescue.

See http://www.toad.com/gnu/sysadmin/index.html#ddrescue for a nice exposition of the differences.

One warning -- In Debian, at least, the packages names do not correspond to the tool names:
    Code:
    Tool Name Package Name
    dd_rescue ddrescue
    ddrescue gddrescue
    Nicely confusing :)

Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) LAMP Server Installation with Screenshots

I may try setting this Ubuntu Server up on a neighbor computer. Sounds like LAMP would be easier than SLED, SUSE, or FC. Dad uses servers @ work, but he & kids play too many games for real interest in Linux. Setting up FX55 Tyan S2865G2NR for older son to play world of war (sp?), thought of putting linux server on RAID 0 2xWD740GD. Any idea if OK for gaming? TY d8d

    PostgreSQL Database Server Configuration

Is anyone knows if there is rpm for psqlodbc-08.02.0400 for REHL machine
    (# uname -a Linux eng-rh64-2 2.4.21-47.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 5 20:30:30 EDT 2006 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux)?
I have tried to download the source(postgreSQL for unix) and compile it but was getting a lot of errors so i thought if the binaries are available then would simplify the installation.

    thanks,
    Bavon.
