Can't figure out how to establish dial-up connection

Ok, I've gotten my GUI (X window system) up-and-running now, but I don't know how to establish a dial-up connection to download the necessary files to update my OS. I've read a million articles and they all involved broadband of some sort. could someone please help me out?

OS- Arch Linux 0.6

There should be dialup tools in your chosen GUI (ie, KDE, GNOME.) Kppp is the easiest for KDE, but I don't know about GNOME.

You could always try to get wvdial and connect that way. From memory, it's very hassle free when using it from a command line (provided the wvdial.conf file is setup properly.) You can use it to connect from a konsole.

wvdial is here:

Instructions are here:
