Votes cannot be changed. Keep in mind that being Open Source is only a requirement for categories that have "Open Source" in the title.

Geany been my favorite editor for years. wish SB would upgrade it the one they have has a bug when open in another window.

voted for leafpad (gui). nano or pico when not in X. I like pluma and mousepad as well. I dont remember how to use vi.

Vim repeated as the winner this year. I usually like to use it. I know that it has cut and paste, but if I cut a phrase from another app, I haven't always been able to reliably paste it in vim by pushing p. I will need more work with this.

I now work almost entirely in Tmux'd shells and have configured Tmux to handle all shell related clipboard operations, so I don't often stumble over the Vim config any more - but I recall always being able to resolve it by recompile and/or simple configs.

It will also depend on your distribution, of course.

I use VIM in terminal mode and QT-Creator in GUI mode. VIM is horrible for programming in C or C++. The search for a word results in the word being highlighted in color on color (example, yellow on yellow). If VIM is supplied, it needs to be supplied with a good default color scheme to distinguish the highlighted word.

When within (braces), with VIM you cannot tell if you are on the brace or just at the b as in (b...)

I normally turn off highlighting.

dugan, I know you do a lot of web stuff, do you use reactjs? If so, did you manage to get neovim to play nicely with jsx syntax (indentation, etc.)?
