The polls are now open! We are still looking for nominations in many categories, so if you see your favorite app missing let us know ASAP. The polls will close on February 3rd, so get all your votes in ASAP!

Would be pretty cool if we could see the results as they come in - it'd be like watching an election all over again, <SARCASM> and we all know how much we enjoyed that experience</SARCASM>
:D

I'm glad the results are hidden this year. Quite honestly, I felt some of the really close races last year were only close cause members could see what the vote count is.

Cheers!

It is more fun to wait until the end and we get to see that huge .gif of Jeremy opening the envelope with the top 3 in each category*

*Just kidding :) But the "it's better to wait" comment still stands.

Sorta annoying to go from post to post answering polls, you should've done some sort of php page with a next button so you just cruise through all the polls in 5 secs :P. Really looking forward to see the winners.

EDIT: btw i didn't see gkrellm, they deserve a prize, dunno what category it fits in, maybe awesomeness :P.

I'd have to say a new category, maybe perhaps.. "Best Linux Utility Tool" or something like that..

And I just noticed, don't we usually have a best "Programming Language" award? I can't remember these things anymore.. ;)

Yup, that sounds likea good category. Maybe another for best linux backup program, but then again this is probably overkill :P.

Great idea, C++ for teh win :P. Maybe there should be best web programming language too, because C++ and php have two completely different uses and shouldn't be pitted against each other, but of course, php would surely win best web programming language :P.

inkscape and sodipodi are missing from the best graphics section. I have to agree that it's better to have the results hidden, it's more exciting to see the results later.

No Shell category?

Boffy 01-01-2005 01:03 PM

When do the polls close?

jeremy 01-01-2005 01:12 PM

February 3rd.
