Open Source Game of the Year

What Open Source game do you prefer?

leonscape 12-30-2004 11:01 PM

What about Blob Wars?

darkleaf 12-31-2004 08:35 AM

I like battle for wesnoth most. It's not in the list though.

mjjzf 12-31-2004 08:40 AM

I second Wesnoth.

leadazide 12-31-2004 09:05 AM

Wesnoth

davecs 12-31-2004 09:50 AM

None of the above!

Still love emilia-pinball!

Proud 12-31-2004 03:19 PM

SuperTux? Came with Mandrake 10.1 OE, feels like Super Mario Bros on the SNES! Just waiting to find Yoshi now... ;)

Brane Ded 12-31-2004 09:38 PM

VegaStrike. It's pretty rough around the edges, but still a nice way to kill a couple of hours.

SlackerLX 12-31-2004 09:55 PM

Is UT2004 considered Open Source game?
I, actually, run it without wine emulation.
And since I start installer with
Code:

sh linux-install.sh
then I believe it to be Open Source game
Then for me it is a winner of 2004:cool:

redjokerx 12-31-2004 10:26 PM

No Pingus? That was one of my motivations for switching back to linux.

Proud 01-01-2005 03:46 AM

SlackerLX, if you've got the source to UT2K4 and it's under an open licence, please enlighten the rest of us. Otherwise, vote for it in Commercial Games of the Year. ;)

jeremy 01-01-2005 09:06 AM

Pingus and SuperTux have been added.

MagicMan

fritzed 01-02-2005 02:35 AM

Armagetron Advanced.

-> Fritz

carstenbjensen 01-02-2005 04:15 AM

I would have voted on FreeCNC, but it wasn't in the poll, so I woted on Wesnoth instead.
Wesnoth is one of these games, were you forget time and just have to keep playing... ;)

raouls 01-02-2005 05:27 AM

frozen bubble! that game rocks... can't get my friends off my laptop, they always want to play frozen bubble...

uvramana 01-02-2005 05:37 AM

hutuworm 01-03-2005 08:39 PM

Tux Racer, pretty silly. :D

vectordrake 01-03-2005 09:54 PM

My favorite game is taking silly airborn screenshots of tuxracer ;)

TomaCzar 01-03-2005 10:56 PM

This is BLOBWARS hands down. How it could not be here I just don't know.

segphault 01-04-2005 02:35 AM

MONKEY BUBBLE!

Monkey bubble is WAY cooler than frozen bubble!

DownloadTHIS 01-04-2005 04:04 AM

How can you not have Marathon: Aleph One?

RaphaelL 01-04-2005 11:57 AM

What about boson? http://boson.sourceforge.net

I would vote for that one!

nuka_t 01-05-2005 07:30 PM

other than boson, ill probably have to say frozen bubble.

kartik_mistry 01-07-2005 05:09 AM

I play gnuChess ! and Tuxracer

mastermindNYC 01-07-2005 09:48 PM

Supertux is causing me to waste unreasonable amounts of time...

tamoneya 01-07-2005 10:36 PM

Super Tux for me.

Velvet Elvis 01-09-2005 12:05 AM

As there is not a single rougelike on the list, I can't vote. Rougelikes and interactive fiction are all I play.

LoungeLizard 01-09-2005 06:16 PM

I just really enjoy this game!!! :)

enigmasoldier 01-10-2005 02:22 AM

Can we say Enemy Territory?

CharlieG 01-10-2005 08:21 AM

It will be a travesty if it doesn't go to Battle for Wesnoth. UFO:AI is still only a demo, and the other games are either ancient or really haven't done too much recently whilst Wesnoth has emerged as one of the premier FOSS games.

Charlie's tip for next year is Scourge - http://scourge.sf.net

cowboy45 01-10-2005 10:23 PM

I've spent hours playing tux racer..........................

dylansmrjones 01-10-2005 11:49 PM

xbill ... I really like that game ... As a windows user for approx. 14 years I really hate that guy... so I vote for xbill :D

kierl 01-12-2005 05:08 AM

Hey, how about Egoboo? That one would get my vote hands down if it were on the list. Sure it's not as developed as some of the others, but, IMHO, it's a lot more fun.

Joe Soap 01-13-2005 01:33 AM

Where's Blob Wars?

insyte 01-13-2005 10:30 AM

Wesnoth, love this game
